VSBo housing queue

Vaggeryd-Skillingaryds Bostads AB, VSBo, is Vaggeryd Municipality's public housing company and lets 1,155 rental homes. The apartments are mainly in Vaggeryd and Skillingaryd, and also in Hok and Klevshult. Senior and sheltered housing in Vaggeryd and Skillingaryd uses the same queue and the same letting policy, with the added rule that you must have turned 55. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day in the queue, and the points are personal and cannot be transferred. Vacant homes are published on vsbo.se for four days. You register interest, and among the applicants who meet the letting policy, viewing offers go to those with the most points. Whoever has the most points, whom VSBo can accept as a tenant and who says yes, gets the contract. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking. Income that counts includes wages, a pension, CSN student loans, unemployment benefit, taxable payments from Försäkringskassan and income support confirmed by Vaggeryd Municipality. They run a credit check, and you must have no payment defaults and no debts to VSBo or another landlord. As a rule there is no priority. Exceptions can be made if you get a job in Vaggeryd Municipality with no public transport, if a home cannot be adapted, or on medical grounds, and five years of queue time cannot be bypassed with priority.

VSBo publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the area, the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To keep your points you need to log in to Mina sidor at least once a year. When you get a home the points reset. You can join the queue again straight away to start collecting new points, but you cannot apply for another home with VSBo until 9 months have passed.
