VS-Hus housing queue

VS-Hus AB is a family firm founded in 1991. They manage around 1,650 apartments and commercial premises in Västerås, Fagersta, Norberg and Skinnskatteberg. Alongside ordinary rentals they let student apartments in Västerås, plus parking spaces and storage. Everything is applied for through the same Mina sidor registration, and registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue does not work like a municipal housing agency. You get no numbered place and there are no queue points to collect. You register as an applicant on Mina sidor and register interest when a home falls vacant. VS-Hus reserve the right to freely offer and choose a tenant among those who meet VS-Hus's letting policy: the home does not go to whoever can move in earliest. When you are offered a home they run a credit check. Tenants must hold home insurance.

VS-Hus publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the town, the size of the home and how many others register interest. They give no exact figure in months. To count as an active applicant you need to log in at least once every six months. VS-Hus do not publish what happens to your registration if you miss that, nor what happens to it when you sign a contract.
