Uppvidingehus housing queue

AB Uppvidingehus is Uppvidinge Municipality's wholly owned public housing company and has around 800 homes plus garages and commercial premises in Alstermo, Lenhovda, Norrhult/Klavreström, Åseda and Älghult. Alongside ordinary rentals in apartment buildings and terraced houses with a private patio they have 70+ housing in all five towns, and they let parking spaces and storage. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day from the date you register. When a home falls vacant you register interest, and the five applicants with the most points get an offer that must be answered within a week. The offer states your place in the queue for that listing, and there can be up to four people ahead of you. The answer is binding whether or not you attend the viewing. If you do not reply at all to six offers you are blocked from new offers for six months. Whoever is first and accepts is credit-checked, and they may ask for an employment contract. They require a guarantor when ability to pay is in doubt, for example a balance with Kronofogden, income that is too low, or if you have not turned 18. Tenants should hold home insurance. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking.

Uppvidingehus publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the town, the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To count as an active applicant you need to log in to Mina sidor at least once every six months.
