About Upplands-Brohus
Upplands-Brohus is owned by Upplands-Bro Municipality and manages just over 2,100 rental apartments in Kungsängen and Bro, plus commercial premises. Three in four vacancies are let through the own municipal queue to people registered as living in the municipality or employed by an employer there. The remaining quarter is handed to Bostadsförmedlingen i Stockholm, under that agency's own rules, for applicants who neither live nor work in the municipality. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.
Homes are let by queue time. You need a Swedish personal identity number or a coordination number. When a home falls vacant you register interest on Mina sidor, and among those who meet the letting policy, queue time decides. The exception is Ledig direkt: homes that have not been let are drawn by lottery among those who registered interest in the municipal queue, with no regard to queue time. Upplands-Brohus grant no priority from the queue. The social services committee can in some cases assess social or medical grounds. It is not Bostadsförmedlingen's queue, but the queue time counts from the day you join Upplands-Brohus's own queue. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking.
Upplands-Brohus publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the size of the home, the area and how many applicants with longer queue time apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To keep your queue place you need to log in at least once a year. Before you can register interest in the municipal queue you must upload income documents and a family certificate to Mina sidor; the documents stay on file for six months.
