Uddevallahem housing queue

Uddevallahem is Uddevalla Municipality's public housing foundation and lets 4,745 apartments in Uddevalla and Ljungskile. Alongside ordinary rentals there is senior housing, plus storage and parking spaces let to existing tenants. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day from the day you register, and the points are personal. They cannot be transferred. When a home falls vacant you register interest, at most five at a time, and the eight applicants with the most points who pass a credit check are offered a viewing. Among those who meet the letting policy. Income that covers the rent, no debts to Uddevallahem, another landlord or Kronofogden, and no negative references. The contract goes to whoever has the most points. Approved income includes wages, unemployment benefit, student finance, a pension, housing allowance and income support certified by Uddevalla Municipality. Homes marked Bostad direkt instead go first come, first served, with no regard to queue time. You can join the queue from 16 and be offered a home if a relative will hold the contract and pay the rent; signing in your own name requires 18. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking.

Uddevallahem publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the area, the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To keep your points you need to log in to Mina sidor and update your interest registration at least once a year. If you turn down eight offers within 12 months, or do not reply to four viewing offers, you are blocked from applying for six months but keep your points. If you withdraw after agreeing to sign, the points reset and you are blocked for six months. When you get an ordinary apartment or a parking space the points in that category are deleted. If you accept a Bostad direkt home with immediate move-in, though, you keep your queue points.
