Trobo housing queue

Trobo (Trosabygdens Bostäder AB) is Trosa Municipality's public housing company and manages around 713 rental homes and some 50 commercial premises. The homes are in Trosa, Vagnhärad and Västerljung. Standing in the queue costs 250 kronor a year.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day from the day you register, and the points are personal. They cannot be transferred. When a home falls vacant you register interest on Mina sidor, and among the applicants who meet the letting policy the five with the most points are offered the home. Whoever has the most points stands first. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking.

Trobo publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the town, the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They give no exact figure in months. There is no requirement to log in at set intervals to keep your place. The six-month update that used to apply has been dropped. What you must do is pay the annual fee of 250 kronor, or you are deregistered and the points are lost. If you turn down or fail to reply to a total of three offers within six months you are blocked for six months and lose the corresponding queue time. When you sign a new tenancy the queue time resets. If you want to collect points again you have to register afresh. On an internal swap with another Trobo tenant you keep the points.
