Treklövern housing queue

Treklövern Bostads AB is Klippan's municipal housing company, wholly owned by the municipality in north-west Skåne. The company lets 1,180 rental homes in Klippan, Stidsvig, Östra Ljungby and Ljungbyhed, plus garages and parking spaces. The stock also includes senior and sheltered housing from age 65. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You collect one point per day from the day you register as an applicant, and the points are personal. They cannot be transferred or pooled with a co-applicant. When a home falls vacant you register interest, at most five at a time. The listing stays up for at least two working days, and the viewing is offered to the five with the most points who meet the letting rules. Whoever says yes after the viewing and has the most queue days is given the home. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking. If you already rent from Treklövern you earn one queue point per day you live in the home, provided you register as an applicant. Some homes go as Bostad Direkt, without queue time, to whoever first registers interest and meets the rules, but you still need to be in the queue. Your income must cover the rent plus Kronofogden's standard living amount. Accepted income includes wages, a pension, unemployment benefit, parental benefit, sickness benefit, housing benefit and student finance. Personal capital equal to at least three years' rent can be counted too. Debts to another landlord, or payment defaults registered with Kronofogden, are not accepted.

Treklövern publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the size of the home, the area and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To keep your points you need to update your application at least once a year, or it is deleted and the points are lost. If you do not reply to three offers, or turn down five, within three months you are blocked for 120 days. When you sign a contract the points are deleted, including on an internal move. You can register again after five days, but you are blocked from registering interest for 12 months.
