Torsås Bostäder housing queue

Torsås Bostads AB is owned by Torsås Municipality and manages 558 rental homes in Torsås, Söderåkra, Bergkvara and Gullabo. Alongside ordinary rentals they let parking spaces, garages and storage, applied for through the same website. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day from the day you register, and the points are personal. They cannot be given away or pooled. Vacant homes are listed for seven days, and you may have at most five open interest registrations. Among those who meet the letting rules the offer mainly goes to whoever has the most points, but Torsås Bostäder reserve the right to choose the tenant and there are priority routes, including for newly arrived residents and people moving for work. To sign, net income must be at least the rent plus Kronofogden's subsistence amount (normalbeloppet) per month, and they run a credit check before an offer is sent. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you register. That is why joining early is worthwhile, even before you start looking.

Torsås Bostäder publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the town, the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To keep your points you need to log in to Mina sidor at least once every six months, or they reset and cannot be restored. When you accept a home and the contract is issued the points reset. The same applies on a direct swap. If you want to collect points again you have to reactivate yourself on Mina sidor.
