Timråbo housing queue

AB Timråbo is Timrå Municipality's public housing company and manages 1,975 rental homes in the municipality. Alongside ordinary rentals there is Plusboende, where you can join the queue from age 50 and the tenant should be at least 55, plus applicants have priority, but the home is let to other applicants if no plus applicant is interested. Parking spaces are applied for through the same account. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day from the day you register, and the points are personal. They cannot be transferred. Vacant homes are listed for about a week. You register interest yourself, and after the listing closes an offer goes to the three to five applicants with the most points. Once they have replied, the contract is signed with whoever has the longest queue time among those who meet the letting policy. To sign you need a Swedish personal identity number or coordination number, income that covers the rent, no rent arrears and housing references. They run a credit check. You may not hold another permanent home. Timråbo can hold homes back from the ordinary queue for social needs or business relocation priority, including people moving in with a full-time permanent job from a municipality outside Härnösand, Sundsvall and Timrå. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking.

Timråbo publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the area, the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To keep your place you need to update your details at least once every twelve months, or you fall out of the queue and have to register again.
