Tibrobyggen housing queue

Tibrobyggen AB is Tibro Municipality's public housing company, founded in 1965, with around 800 rental homes. Most are in Tibro town, and they also have around 30 apartments in Fagersanna. Alongside ordinary rentals there is 50-plus housing, including Kommunhuset, Köpmannen 26 and Pegasus, plus the 65-plus housing at Järnvägsparken, and they let parking spaces. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day from the day you register. When a home falls vacant you register interest, and among the applicants who meet the letting policy, those with the most points are invited to view. Usually 5-10 people. The main rule is that homes are allocated by queue time, but new-build is handled through separate expressions of interest, and exceptions can be made for needs of strategic importance to the municipality or for households that need extra support. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking.

Tibrobyggen publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the area, the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To keep your points you need to log in to Mina sidor at least once a year, or you lose the queue time. When you sign a tenancy the queue time resets, and you have to update yourself as an applicant and start again.
