About Sollentunahem
Sollentunahem is owned by Sollentuna Municipality and manages around 5,000 rental apartments in the municipality, plus commercial premises and parking. Alongside ordinary rentals there are youth apartments from 18 through the year you turn 27, and senior apartments from 60 with no children under 18 still at home. The own queue on Mina sidor is the ordinary path. Some newly built homes and some short-term contracts may also be let through Bostadsförmedlingen i Stockholm, under that agency's own rules. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.
The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day, and the points are personal. They cannot be transferred. If you are registered as living in Sollentuna you can join from 16, otherwise from 18. You can apply for an apartment only from 18. When a home falls vacant you register interest, at most three per week, and among those who meet the letting policy the 15 with the most points are offered a viewing. No priority is given. For Bostad bums the home goes to whoever has the most points among those who registered within one day of publication. It is not Bostadsförmedlingen's queue, but the points count from the day you join Sollentunahem's own queue. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking.
Sollentunahem publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the size of the home, the area and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To keep your points you need to log in to Mina sidor at least once every 24 months, or the queue place is deleted and the points cannot be restored. When you sign an ordinary tenancy the points reset. As a tenant, queue time is then the time you have lived in your current apartment, and you have to join the queue yourself. The exceptions are a youth apartment with an open-ended contract and a short-term contract: there you keep the queue time. If you move to another landlord the points reset.
