Ronnebyhus housing queue

AB Ronnebyhus is owned by Ronneby Municipality and lets around 2,000 apartments in Ronneby, Kallinge, Bräkne-Hoby, Backaryd, Hallabro and Johannishus. Alongside ordinary rentals they have category housing from age 55 with no children living at home, sheltered housing from age 65, storage units, and garage and parking spaces. Garages and parking spaces are offered first to people who already have a tenancy with them. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day from the day you create the account, and the points are personal. When a home falls vacant you register interest, at most three at a time, and the four applicants with the most points who meet the basic rules are offered a viewing. Whoever has the most points and says yes within six days gets the contract, provided their income is acceptable relative to the rent. Accepted income includes wages, a pension, unemployment benefit, student finance and sickness benefit. Income support from Ronneby Municipality counts, and introduction and activity compensation count if the residence condition is met and the income is guaranteed for six months from move-in. A guarantor may be required if you have payment defaults. The exception is Bostad Direkt: points are not used, first come, first served applies, and you keep your points. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking.

Ronnebyhus publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the area, the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They give no exact figure in months. To keep your points you need to log in to Mina sidor at least once a year and confirm that you want to stay in the queue, or the points are lost and cannot be restored. When you sign an ordinary apartment contract the points reset, including when you swap homes.
