Ramunderstaden housing queue

Ramunderstaden AB is owned by Söderköping Municipality and is the municipality's municipal housing company. At the end of 2025 they had 921 rental homes in Söderköping, plus a smaller number of commercial premises. Alongside ordinary rentals they have the sheltered housing Blå porten, where you must be at least 65, or one of you if you apply as two. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on queue time, not on points. Vacancies are published on Boplats Sverige. You must be registered there to apply. You stand in the queue from the day you register your profile. Most homes are listed for about five days. After that a viewing is offered to the five applicants with the longest queue time who meet the letting rules. Whoever has the longest queue time stands first. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the queue time counts from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking. Some homes with a quick move-in go as Bostad direkt: first come, first served, without regard to queue time. They are released on weekdays at 10.00 and are open for applications that day. The published move-in date cannot be negotiated.

Ramunderstaden publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the area, the size of the home and how many applicants with longer queue time apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To keep your queue days you need to log in at least once every six months, or you lose them. To sign a contract you must have turned 18, have a reasonable income in relation to the rent, have settled debts to landlords, have no disturbance remarks, and be able to show home insurance at move-in. They run a credit check when you register interest in a home.
