About Norabostäder

Norabostäder AB is owned by Nora Municipality and lets 667 apartments in Nora and Gyttorp. Alongside ordinary rentals they have senior housing, including 39 apartments at Göken and 16 at Hagby, and a separate parking queue. Parking is let first to people who already have a residential or commercial tenancy. Ordinary and senior homes are applied for in the same queue: you can join before you turn 65, but to sign a senior contract you must have turned 65. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day from the day you register, and the points are personal and cannot be transferred. When a home falls vacant you register interest, at most three at a time. Listings marked Torget: the five applicants with the most points who registered interest are offered a viewing. Listings marked Direkt: the first three to register interest are offered a viewing, regardless of points. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking. To sign a contract your net income must exceed twice the rent for at least six months after you move in, and you must have no debts to Norabostäder, no housing-related debts, and no debts or payment defaults above SEK 10,000 with Kronofogden.

Norabostäder publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the area, the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To stay in the queue you need to log in to Mina sidor at least once every twelve months. When you get a home the points reset. If you want to stay in the queue you have to activate again.
