Munkbo housing queue

Munkbo, Munkedals Bostäder AB, is Munkedal Municipality's wholly owned housing company and lets around 500 apartments in Munkedal, Dingle and Hedekas. Alongside ordinary rentals they have senior homes from age 65, with priority for anyone registered as living in Munkedal Municipality. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You start collecting points when you register as an applicant, and Munkbo let homes by queue time among those who meet the letting policy. They reserve the right to assess applicants. When a home falls vacant you register interest on Mina sidor, and you must have attended the viewing, in person or through a representative, to be offered a contract. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking. To sign you must be 18, have a Swedish personal identity number, and have gross income of at least three times the rent; rent may not exceed 30 percent of gross income. Accepted income includes wages covering at least the next 200 days, a pension, student finance, unemployment benefit with at least 200 days left, housing benefit and sickness benefit. You must have no debt with Kronofogden and no new payment defaults in the past 12 months, good references, and no other permanent home.

Munkbo publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the area, the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To keep your points you need to log in to Mina sidor at least once every twelve months.
