Bostadsbolaget i Mjölby is owned by the municipality and lets 2,700 apartments in Mjölby, Mantorp, Skänninge and Väderstad. Alongside ordinary rentals they have a separate queue for senior apartments: you can join from age 63 if you are registered and living in Mjölby Municipality, and sign a contract from age 65. Parking spaces and storage are applied for through the same Mina sidor account. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day from the day you register, and the points are personal and cannot be transferred. When a home falls vacant you register interest. Most homes go through the Bostad marketplace: after about five days the five applicants with the most points are invited to view it, and the contract goes to whoever has the most points and meets the letting policy. Some are released as Bostad direkt, where first come first served applies and points do not count. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking.

Bostadsbolaget i Mjölby publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the location, the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. To keep your points you need to log in at least once every twelve months, or the profile is deleted and the points are lost. When you sign a contract the points reset and the new start date is the move-in day. You are blocked from applying for another home for six months, but the points still count from the contract start. If you already live with them you do not need to update the queue every twelve months.
