Melin Förvaltning housing queue

Melin Förvaltning, Melin Förvaltnings AB, is a family-owned housing company and Ängelholm's largest private landlord of rental homes. They own and manage apartments and commercial premises in Ängelholm. In the centre, Norra centrum, Nya Torg, Sockerbruket and Södra centrum. Vacant homes are applied for through the same Mina sidor registration, and registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You must be registered to register interest. Vacant homes are listed on an ongoing basis and stay up for seven days; you can register interest in at most five homes at a time. The main rule is that they are allocated by applicants' queue time among those who meet the letting policy. Points are personal and cannot be transferred. For management reasons they may make exceptions. You must have turned 18, have an acceptable income relative to the rent, have no rent arrears or payment defaults, and have no negative housing references. Income includes salary, capital income, a pension, benefits and unemployment benefit. Social assistance can be accepted if you are registered as resident in Ängelholm Municipality and otherwise meet the basic requirements. Decline three times in three months, or fail to reply at all, and the application is blocked for three months.

Melin Förvaltning publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the home and how many applicants with longer queue time register interest in the same one. They give no exact figure in months. The application must be renewed within six months by logging in, or it does not stay in place. They do not send reminders. When you are allocated a home you are automatically deregistered. If you want to search again you have to register afresh. In general you should live in the home for at least a year before a new one is offered.
