About LKF

LKF is Lund Municipality's municipal housing company and the largest landlord in the municipality, with 10,775 rental homes in Lund, Dalby, Södra Sandby, Veberöd, Genarp, Revinge and Stångby. Around 40 percent of the rental stock. On top of that they manage around 1,500 category homes for students and older people that are block-let and so are not applied for in the ordinary queue. Alongside ordinary rentals there are youth apartments for ages 18-25, senior housing from 50, 55 or 65, collective housing and short-term contracts. Parking is applied for in a separate vehicle queue, where tenants in the area go first. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day from the day you register, and the points are personal. They cannot be transferred. You can register from 16, but you can only register interest and receive an offer from 18. When a home falls vacant you register interest, and among the applicants who meet the letting policy, the offer goes to the one with the most points. Vacant homes are offered first to Lund residents. Anyone who lives, works or studies full time in Lund Municipality. Within each group it goes by points. Existing LKF tenants earn two points per day. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking.

LKF publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the area, the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. To keep your points you need to log in to Mina sidor at least once per calendar year, or you are struck from the queue. When you sign a contract the queue registration is deleted. If you join again, new points count from the day the new contract starts, and you are blocked from applying for another home for 12 months. Short-term contracts are the exception: you keep the points. If you turn down, do not reply or fail to upload certificates three times in 12 months you are blocked from applying for 12 months.
