LiBo housing queue

LiBo, Lindesbergsbostäder AB, is Lindesberg Municipality's public housing company and lets homes together with its sister company FALAB. They have 1,150 apartments across Lindesberg Municipality. Alongside ordinary rentals they run three housing queues. Ordinary, youth and senior (65+), plus queues for parking spaces, garages, storage and boat berths. Youth apartments are at Kristinavägen 20 A and can be applied for until the day you turn 25. The 65+ homes are in Storå, Lindesberg and Fellingsbro, and you can register interest from the day you turn 65. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day in the queue you stand in, and you see vacant listings on Mina sidor. When a home falls vacant you register interest, at most three at a time, and you must have turned 18. A home stays listed for seven days, after which a viewing is offered to the three applicants with the most points; if they say no it goes to the next three. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking. Before a contract LiBo check the letting policy: you need approved income that covers the rent, no rent arrears or payment defaults, good references and home insurance. They take a credit check.

LiBo publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the area, the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To keep your points you need to log in to Mina sidor at least once a year. When you get an apartment the points disappear and you are blocked from applying again for six months. You can still collect new points during the block. If you miss two offers you are blocked for three months, but you still collect points.
