Laxåhem housing queue

AB Laxåhem is Laxå Municipality's public housing company and lets 611 apartments in Laxå, Hasselfors and Finnerödja. Alongside ordinary rentals they have 40 senior apartments from age 60, and also let garages, parking spaces and storage units. Laxåhem tenants have priority when a garage, parking space or storage unit becomes vacant. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one Laxåhem point per day from the day you register on Mina sidor. When a home falls vacant you register interest, at most three at a time. When the application window closes, the offer goes to whoever has the most points among those who meet the letting policy. If a home has already been published once with no applicants, it goes to whoever signs first. Existing tenants also get queue time based on how long they have had their current contract. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking. To sign a contract you must have no rent arrears, good references and income that covers the rent. Approved income includes wages or a student loan for at least six months ahead, a pension, unemployment benefit, parental benefit, income from self-employment and municipally confirmed income support from Laxå Municipality. Laxåhem take a credit check and make the final decision.

Laxåhem publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the location, the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To keep collecting points you need to log in to Mina sidor at least once every twelve months. When you sign a contract the points reset. If you want to collect new points you can register again as soon as the contract is signed.
