Länsgården housing queue

Alongside ordinary rentals, Länsgården lets furnished apartments, student housing and 55+ homes. The stock is in Örebro, including the centre, the north, Skebäck and Ladugårdsängen, and in Karlskoga at Brickegården. Everything is applied for through the same housing queue on Mina sidor, and registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day on the interest list. Vacant homes are published for seven days, and when that window closes a viewing is offered to those who registered interest and have the longest queue time. Among applicants who meet the letting policy, the home goes by points. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking. Fail to reply to three offers and you are blocked from new interest registrations for four months, and you collect no new points during the block. For new-build, the board may instead choose a lottery, first come first served, or priority for existing tenants.

Länsgården publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the location, the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They give no exact figure in months. To stay an active applicant you must update the application at least every six months. It updates automatically when you log in to Mina sidor. When you sign a contract you are removed from the interest list and must live there at least a year before you can apply for another home. Your new registration date is the same as the move-in date.
