Laholmshem housing queue

Laholmshem AB is Laholm Municipality's wholly owned housing company and manages 1,550 apartments in nearly every locality in the municipality. Alongside ordinary rentals they have youth homes in Laholm and Våxtorp. The company also manages schools, preschools and care homes, but those are not let through the ordinary housing queue. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points from your registration date, but ranking is first set by three priority groups. Existing tenants with a contract that is at least three years old go first, with queue time counted as continuous time living there. Next come applicants registered as living in Laholm Municipality, and last everyone else. Within each group the offer goes to whoever registered earliest. Vacant homes are usually published on Thursday or Friday and stay open for interest for six to seven days. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking. The income rule is that gross income must be at least 2.5 times the rent and cover at least the next six months. Homes that are not let through the ordinary queue can be listed as BoDirekt: then it is first come, first served, regardless of points.

Laholmshem publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the area, the size of the home, the priority group and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To keep your points you need to renew the application at least once every twelve months by logging in to Mina sidor, or both the application and the points are deleted. When you sign a new contract the points reset and you are blocked from applying for a home for a year. If you do not reply or turn down five homes within three months you are blocked for three months.
