Kvidingebyggen housing queue

AB Kvidingebyggen is Åstorp's municipal housing company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Björnekulla Fastighets AB. The company owns and manages just over 520 rental homes in apartment buildings and at ground level in Åstorp, Kvidinge and Hyllinge, plus older-person and sheltered housing and senior housing from age 60. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You start collecting points from the day you register. When a home falls vacant you register interest, at most three at a time. The listing stays up for five days, and the viewing is offered to whoever has the oldest registration date among those who applied for that home and meet the letting rules. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking. Accepted income is wages, unemployment benefit, a pension, student finance (CSN) and sickness benefit. You must have no debts with Kronofogden or from a previous tenancy with Kvidingebyggen, and a credit check is run at the viewing. The main occupancy rule is at most two people per bedroom, and subletting is not allowed. If you have been a co-applicant you cannot take that registration date with you onto an application of your own.

Kvidingebyggen publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the size of the home, the area and how many applicants with a longer registration time apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To stay in the queue you need to log in to Mina sidor at least once every six months and save your application again, or it is deleted and you have to register afresh. When you sign a contract the application is deleted automatically. If you want to search again you have to register afresh.
