Krambo housing queue

Krambo AB is the municipal housing company in Kramfors Municipality, with 1,706 rental homes in Kramfors, Bollstabruk, Nyland, Ullånger and Nordingrå. Alongside ordinary rentals they let student homes, senior housing for people aged 65 and over at Magistern, and parking spaces. Student homes, including rooms for pupils at Räddningsgymnasiet Sandö. Are allocated first come, first served, not by queue points, and for the Sandö rooms the guardian must register the interest application. In Bollstabruk, Nyland and Ullånger, people aged 18-26 can get 10 percent off the rent on a new contract. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day from the day you are registered as an applicant, and you can see the balance on Mina sidor. When a home falls vacant you register interest, and among the applicants who meet Krambo's letting criteria, the three with the most points get the chance to view it. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking. For a contract you need lasting income, such as a permanent job, a pension, unemployment benefit or study support. Krambo run a credit check, review payment defaults and require that any debt to them is cleared. People who move into the municipality for a job of at least 50 percent for at least six months can get priority: you then go first on the homes you apply for. If several people have priority for the same listing, queue points decide.

Krambo publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the area, the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. If you have not heard anything within ten days after the listing closes, the home has gone to someone else. To keep your points you need to log in to Mina sidor at least once a year, or you drop out of the queue. When you sign a contract the points reset, and you have to register again to start collecting them.
