Jokkmokkshus housing queue

AB Jokkmokkshus is Jokkmokk Municipality's wholly owned public housing company, with 566 apartments plus commercial premises. The stock is concentrated in Jokkmokk, with apartments also in Vuollerim. They also let parking spaces, applied for through a separate vehicle queue on the website. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day in the queue, and the points are personal and cannot be transferred. You register through Mina sidor and need a Swedish personal identity number. If you do not have one, contact customer service. When a home falls vacant you register interest, and viewing offers go to five applicants at once. The contract goes to the applicant with the most points who meets the basic requirements. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking. For a contract you must be of legal age, have disposable income of at least twice the monthly rent, have had no payment defaults or debts in the past 12 months, and hold valid home insurance. Good references from a previous landlord are required on request.

Jokkmokkshus publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To keep your queue time you need to log in at least once every twelve months, or you lose your place. When you have been offered a home and accepted it, the points reset.
