Hallbo housing queue

Hallbo is Hallsberg's municipal housing foundation and lets around 1,150 homes in Hallsberg, Pålsboda, Sköllersta, Östansjö and Vretstorp. Alongside ordinary rentals they let parking spaces and storage, and the same queue is used for homes let on behalf of SIBE Förvaltning AB and Hallsbergs Bostads AB. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day from the first login after you register, and there is no other way to get points. When a home falls vacant you register interest, at most four at a time. Hallbo contact around five applicants with the most points for a viewing, and among those who meet Hallbo's letting rules the contract goes to whoever has the most points and wants the home. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you activate the account. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking.

Hallbo publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the town, the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. To keep your points you need to log in to Mina sidor at least once a year and update your details. When you sign a contract the points reset, and you are blocked from making new interest registrations for a year. If you decline four offers, or miss four viewings, within six months you are blocked for six months. The points are paused but not reset.
