About Habo Bostäder
Habo Bostäder is Habo municipality's housing company and part of Habo Energi, with 616 rental homes in Habo. The company was founded in 1953. Parking spaces and carports are let through Securitas, and as a tenant you can use Mina sidor to join a queue for another home, a parking space or a storage unit. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.
The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day from the day you register, and the points are personal. They cannot be combined or given away, except that a spouse can take them over on death. When a home falls vacant you register interest, and among those who have applied, the three with the most points are normally offered a viewing. The applicant with the most points who accepts after the viewing is normally offered the contract. You can accept several viewing offers at once, because the order can differ from one home to another. You must have turned 18 to register interest and sign a tenancy. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking.
Habo Bostäder publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on how much interest there is in that particular home. They cannot say how many points are needed. To keep collecting points you need to log in to Mina sidor at least once a year, or the points are deleted and you are removed from the queue.
