Grums Hyresbostäder housing queue

Grums Hyresbostäder AB is owned by Grums Municipality and lets around 700 apartments in Grums, Åshammar (Solhagen) and Slottsbron. Alongside ordinary rentals there is a separate queue for parking spaces and garages, and sheltered housing that can be applied for from age 70. You can join the sheltered-housing queue from 68 and start collecting points. Everything is applied for through Mina sidor, and registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day you are a registered applicant, and the points are personal and cannot be transferred. When a home falls vacant you register interest, at most three at a time, and among those who meet the letting policy the viewing offer goes to the applicant with the most points. You have seven days to reply. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking.

Grums Hyresbostäder publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the area, the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. To keep your points you need to update your application at least once a year, or the points are lost. When you sign a contract the points reset and you are blocked from applying for another home for 12 months. You can still rejoin the queue and collect new points during the block. The exception is homes marked Trygg köstatus: then you keep your points.
