About Fortinova
Alongside ordinary rentals, Fortinova lets parking spaces, garages and storage units, and has senior housing in Varberg, Lödöse and Lilla Edet where at least one person in the household must have turned 70. Everything is applied for through the same Mina sidor registration. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.
The queue runs on points. A vacant home goes to the applicant who has been in the queue longest among those who meet Fortinova's letting policy and have registered interest. You cannot improve your place by calling or emailing. Fortinova always run a credit check and require that you have no payment defaults or outstanding debt, and no debts to Fortinova. A permanent job is not required: social assistance, unemployment benefit and similar income count, and housing benefit and housing supplement count towards disposable income. They apply Kronofogden's reserved-amount figure to check that you have enough left to live on after rent. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking.
Fortinova publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the location, the size of the home and how many applicants with longer queue time apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To stay in the queue, including for a garage, a parking space or storage. You need to log in to Mina sidor at least once a year, within 365 days. Miss that and you lose your place. The account remains for another three months, but if you log in then the count starts again from zero. When you sign a contract the points reset, and you have to join the queue again yourself. Fortinova have no internal queue for existing tenants.
