Förbo housing queue

Förbo is jointly owned by the municipalities of Härryda, Mölndal, Lerum and Kungälv and has around 6,000 homes in 63 areas across 19 towns: apartments, terraced houses and semi-detached houses. Alongside ordinary rentals there is youth housing for people under 25 and more accessible homes for 55+ and 70+. Parking spaces and storage are applied for through the same Mina sidor account. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day you are registered or live with Förbo, and among the applicants who meet the letting policy, the offer goes to the one with the most points. Förbo apply no priority, medical or social. The points are personal and cannot be combined, but children still living at home with a Förbo tenant can count part of the parent's points. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you register. That is why joining early is worthwhile, even before you start looking. Vacant homes are advertised for four days on Mina sidor.

Förbo publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the area, the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. You do not need to log in at any set interval to keep your points. You keep collecting for as long as you remain registered. You do, though, need to review the applicant profile every six months to be able to register interest. When you sign a new tenancy with Förbo the points reset. If you move out of Förbo you keep them and continue collecting.
