Finnvedsbostäder housing queue

Finnvedsbostäder AB is owned by Värnamo Municipality and manages 2,952 rental homes in Värnamo and the surrounding towns of Bredaryd, Forsheda, Bor and Rydaholm. Alongside ordinary rentals there are student apartments by Campus Värnamo, youth apartments for people aged 18 to 26, plus 65+ housing and sheltered housing from age 65. Garages, carports and parking spaces are applied for through a separate vehicle queue, and extra storage is let in some areas. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day in the queue, and registration is personal. When a home falls vacant you register interest, in at most five listings at a time. Among the applicants who meet the letting policy, a viewing is offered to the ten with the most points, and whoever says yes with the most points and is approved gets the contract. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking. Poängfritt is the exception: homes that did not let through the ordinary queue go to whoever signs the contract first. Student apartments are let through Snabbspår, also first come, first served.

Finnvedsbostäder publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the area, the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To keep your points you need to log in to Mina sidor at least once every twelve months, or the points are lost. When you sign an ordinary tenancy the points are used up and you start collecting new ones from the contract date. If you already hold a contract it must have run for at least 12 months before you may apply for another home, except for new-build. To be approved they run a credit check and require proof of income, no payment defaults and good references.
