Fabo housing queue

Falkenbergs Bostads AB, known as Fabo, is owned by Falkenberg Municipality and is the municipality's municipal housing company. At the end of 2025 they had 2,570 rental homes in the municipality, from the centre and Sloalyckan to places such as Ullared, Slöinge, Morup, Ätran and Skogstorp. Alongside ordinary rentals there is senior housing from 65, including in Morup, and sheltered housing from 70 that Fabo manages but that is applied for through the municipality. Parking is let through Securitas. Storage is let subject to availability. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day from the day you register. The points are personal and usually cannot be transferred, except on death or a permanent move to a care home. Vacant homes are listed for eight days, five for a fast move-in and up to 14 for new builds. You may register interest in at most five homes at a time. When the listing closes the three applicants with the most points are invited to a viewing, and among those who meet the basic requirements the contract goes to the one with the most points. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking. New builds can be let in another way after a board decision. Only one person can be on the contract. If you turn down, or do not reply to, three offers within six months you are blocked for six months.

In the central town Fabo write that the wait is about 4-5 years. In the countryside, for example in Ätran, Ullared, Morup and Slöinge, the queue is shorter, and for new builds it can also be shorter. They publish no average wait for the queue as a whole, and no exact figure in months. At the end of 2025, 31,740 people stood in the queue. To keep your points you need to log in to Mina sidor at least once every twelve months, or the points reset. When you accept an ordinary home, or swap, you lose the points and are blocked from applying again for a year from the date the contract started. Short-term contracts in buildings due for renovation are the exception: there you keep the points and continue to collect them.
