About Doroteahus
Doroteahus i Dorotea AB is Dorotea municipality's public housing company, founded in 1953, with a stock of over 360 apartments plus commercial premises. Alongside ordinary rentals there are furnished apartments and the Norrskenet sheltered housing, which has a separate waiting list handled by an administrator. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.
The queue runs on points. When you register as an applicant you earn one point per day, and the points form the basis of the ranking. When a home falls vacant you register interest on the website. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking. Doroteahus reserves the right to choose the tenant freely. For a contract you must meet their income rules and their rules on debts and payment defaults, hold home insurance, take out your own electricity contract, and have managed your relationship with them for the past two years.
Doroteahus publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To keep your place you need to log in to Mina sidor at least once a year, or your details are removed. If you turn down three offers in a row you are removed from the queue. If you accept, your queue days are deleted and you cannot apply for another home for six months.
