Bygginvest housing queue

Jönköpings Bygginvest AB lets ordinary rentals and student apartments, from small studios to larger family homes. Garages and parking spaces have a separate queue and are offered only to existing tenants. Registering is free. There is no annual fee. Smaller homes that suit students can be handed to the Studbo student housing queue instead of Bygginvest's own queue.

The queue does not work like a municipal housing agency. You get no numbered place and there are no queue points to collect. You register as an applicant, register interest when a home falls vacant, and among those who meet the letting policy, whoever has been registered longest gets it. Existing tenants who have lived there for at least a year can get priority on an internal transfer, and in some cases other reasons count too, such as student housing via Studbo. Bygginvest's guideline is that your gross income should be at least three times the rent; wages, unemployment benefit, a pension, sickness benefit and student finance all count as regular income. They also require that you have no rent debts and, as a rule, no payment defaults.

Bygginvest publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the location, the size of the home and how many people who have been registered longer apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To count as an active applicant you need to log in at least once every six months. What happens to the registration when you sign a contract is something Bygginvest do not publish.
