Bollnäs Bostäder housing queue

Alongside ordinary rentals, Bollnäs Bostäder has high-accessibility senior housing and sheltered housing at Hedhamregatan 1, where at least one person in the household must be 65 or over. They also let parking spaces, garages and storage through the same Mina sidor account. Only existing tenants can sign for a parking space, but anyone can join the queue. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day from the day you register, and the points are personal and cannot be transferred. When a home falls vacant it is published for one week. You can register interest in at most five listings at a time, and after publication a viewing offer goes to at most 15 applicants with the longest queue time. The contract is signed with whoever has the longest queue time, says yes and meets the basic rules: income that covers the rent for at least six months ahead, no rent arrears, and references from a previous landlord. It is not a numbered place at a municipal housing agency, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking. Extra points exist in two cases: 550 points as a labour-market priority if you have a job in Bollnäs Municipality and commute at least 100 kilometres, and 550 points as a rotation priority if you own a house in the municipality and have lived there for at least three years. Tenants who have lived at least five years in the same apartment can count that tenancy as their queue-qualifying date.

Bollnäs Bostäder publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on which home you apply for and how many applicants with more points register interest. To keep your points you need to update the queue at least once every twelve months, through Mina sidor or by phone, or the queue time goes inactive. When you sign an ordinary tenancy the points reset. You can register again at any time, but you are blocked from registering interest for twelve months after move-in. The exception is homes marked Bodirekt or Bosnart: no queue time is needed, and new tenants keep their points.
