Bodenbo housing queue

Stiftelsen Bodenbo is Boden municipality's public housing foundation, founded in 1947, with just over 2,100 rental homes in central Boden, Svartbjörnsbyn and Sävast. They also let parking spaces, applied for through the same Mina sidor account. These are ordinary rentals, and registering is free. There is no annual fee. People who move to Boden for a permanent job or a project contract of at least one year can get 500 points as a start bonus, if they do not already have a home in the municipality.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day with an activated account, and you can see the balance on Mina sidor. When a home falls vacant you register interest. Listings are open for three days, and among the applicants who meet the letting policy, viewing information goes to the five with the most points, in turn. You need a Swedish personal identity number to register. You get no numbered place, but the points count from the day you activate the account. That is why joining early is worthwhile, even before you start looking. In some cases, for example when move-in is close, the home goes to whoever registered interest first. As a general guideline, your disposable income should exceed twice the rent.

Bodenbo publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the area, the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. To keep your points you need to log in at least once every twelve months, or they are lost. When you get an apartment the points reset, and new points count from the day the contract takes effect. If you rent on a short-term contract you keep your points and keep collecting new ones, and you can apply for other homes during the tenancy.
