Bjuvsbostäder housing queue

AB Bjuvsbostäder is Bjuv's municipal housing company. It operates as Bjuvsfastigheter, with 855 rental homes in apartment buildings, terraced houses and homes for residents aged 55 and over in Bjuv, Billesholm and Ekeby. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day from the day you register, and the points are personal and cannot be transferred. When a home falls vacant you register interest, at most six at a time. Among the applicants who meet the letting policy, the home goes to the one with the most points. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking. A home that is still vacant after the ordinary process can instead go to whoever can sign a contract first, without regard to points.

Bjuvsbostäder publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the size of the home, the area and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. To keep your points you need to log in and update your details at least once every six months, or you are removed from the queue and the points are lost. When you sign a contract the points reset, and you cannot register again until six months from the first contract day.
