About Bergs hyreshus
Bergs hyreshus is Berg municipality's public landlord and lets around 450 rental homes around the municipality. Alongside ordinary rentals they let sheltered housing for people aged 65 and over, and as a tenant you can rent a parking space, carport or garage. Registering is free. There is no annual fee. To join the queue you need a Swedish personal identity number.
The queue runs on points. When a home falls vacant you register interest on Mina sidor. You can have at most three applications at once, and listings stay up for ten days. After the listing closes, offers go to the five applicants with the most queue points, and the contract usually goes to whoever has the most points and meets the basic requirements. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but it is the points that decide the order. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking.
Bergs hyreshus publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the home, the area and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To stay in the queue you need to update your registration at least once a year, while logged in to Mina sidor, or your queue time disappears. What happens to the points when you sign a contract is something they do not publish.
