About Arvidsjaurhem
Arvidsjaurhem is owned by Arvidsjaur Municipality and manages around 1,000 rental homes. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.
The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day from the day you register. When a home falls vacant you register interest, and among the applicants who meet Arvidsjaurhem's basic requirements, the one with the longest queue time gets it. After seven days, viewing offers go to the five applicants with the longest queue time. You get no numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking. Priority can be given in some cases, for example if you have a job or an upper-secondary place in the municipality that requires housing, or if you are moving into the municipality.
Arvidsjaurhem publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. To keep your points you need to update your application at least once a year, or it is deleted and the points are lost. Points that have been lost are not restored. When you sign a contract the points are deleted and you are blocked from applying for a new apartment for 12 months. As a tenant you instead earn one new point per day from the date the contract took effect.
