Armada housing queue

Armada Bostäder is Österåker's municipal housing company and part of the Armada group, which is owned by the municipality. The company lets around 1,500 rental homes, most of them in Åkersberga, plus apartments by Åkers kanal and outside the town. The same queue also lets sheltered housing, where at least one person in the household must be 70 or older. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day from the day you register as an applicant, and the points are personal. They cannot be transferred or pooled with anyone else's. When a home falls vacant you register interest, and among the applicants who meet Armada's letting rules, the five with the most points are invited to a viewing. After the viewing the offer goes to whoever has the most points, has said yes and meets the requirements. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking.

Armada publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on where you want to live, the rent and how many applicants with more points apply for the same home. To keep your points you need to log in at least once every twelve months, or the points are removed and the account is cleared. Armada make no exceptions and never restore points lost to inactivity. When you are allocated a home the points reset, and you are blocked from new applications for 365 days from allocation. If you want to keep collecting points you have to activate yourself in the queue again.
