Årjängs Bostäder housing queue

Årjängs Bostads AB, also known as Årjängs Bostäder or ABAB, is owned by Årjäng Municipality and has almost 1,000 apartments in Årjäng and Töcksfors. They also manage around 40 commercial premises and a hotel. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day from the day you register. When a home is given notice it is listed for ten days, you register interest online, and the five applicants with the most points who meet the letting policy get an offer. You have five days to view the home and reply. The contract goes to the applicant with the most points who says yes. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking. Exceptions can be considered if you are moving into the municipality for a job, on medical grounds, and for tenants who have lived there more than a year and whose housing needs have changed. Students admitted to ÅGY's three-year on-site programmes who live outside the municipality can get student priority.

Årjängs Bostäder publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the area, the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To keep your points you need to be active at least once a year, by logging in to Mina sidor or calling lettings. If you do not reply to three offers, or turn down five, you are blocked from new interest registrations for six months. Once you have been given a home you must live there for at least 12 months before you can swap to another home with them.
