Ängelholmshem housing queue

Ängelholmshem is Ängelholm Municipality's wholly owned housing company and the largest landlord in the municipality, with 3,388 rental homes in apartments, terraced houses, semi-detached houses and sheltered housing across 48 areas and five localities. Senior housing often has an age limit, for example 70. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day from the date you register, and the points are personal. Vacant homes are published on the website, and you can register interest in at most five at a time. The five applicants with the most points who meet the letting policy get a viewing, and among those who say yes the contract goes to whoever has the most points. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking. The income rule is that disposable income must be at least equal to the monthly rent and cover at least the next twelve months. Ängelholmshem accept at most two payment defaults in the past twelve months, and you may not have more than half a price base amount (prisbasbelopp) outstanding with Kronofogden. Homes that are not let through the ordinary queue can be listed as BoDirekt: then it is first come, first served for 24-48 hours, regardless of points.

Ängelholmshem publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the area, the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To keep your points you need to renew the registration at least once every six months by logging in to Mina sidor, or you are removed from the queue and the points are lost. When you get a home the registration is deleted and the points reset. If you want to search again you have to register afresh. If you do not reply after a viewing you are blocked for three months; the same applies if you turn down three homes within three months. You keep your points during the block.
