Älvkarlebyhus housing queue

AB Älvkarlebyhus is owned by Älvkarleby Municipality and owns 1,088 apartments in Skutskär, Älvkarleby, Älvkarleö, Marma and Gårdskär. Alongside ordinary rentals they let parking spaces, garages and boat berths, and there are homes reserved for people aged 65 and over in Skutskär and Älvkarleby. You need a Swedish personal identity number to register. Registering is free. There is no annual fee.

The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day from the day you register, and the points are personal. They cannot be transferred or combined. When a home falls vacant you register interest, five at a time at most, and the five applicants with the longest queue time are offered a viewing. Among those who meet the letting policy, the contract goes to the applicant with the most points. Bostad direkt is the exception: the home goes to whoever registers interest first, regardless of queue time, and you may have only one such interest registration at a time. Älvkarleby Municipality can also be allocated homes under a separate agreement, outside the queue. It is not a municipal housing agency with a numbered place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking.

Älvkarlebyhus publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on the area, the size of the home and how many applicants with more points apply for the same one. They publish no exact figure in months. To keep your points, if you do not already rent from them you need to log in to Mina sidor at least once every twelve months, or you are deleted and the points reset. When you sign a contract the points reset and new ones start from the move-in date, but you may not register interest in another home until at least 12 months after the contract start.
