About Älmhultsbostäder
Alongside ordinary rentals, Älmhultsbostäder lets sheltered housing for anyone aged 70 or over, and senior apartments for anyone aged 65 or over who has home care. They also let parking spaces and storage. Registering for the housing queue is free. There is no annual fee.
The queue runs on points. You earn one point per day you are registered, and the points are personal. When a home falls vacant you register interest, and among the applicants who meet the letting policy, the offer goes to the three with the most points. You can register interest in at most three homes at a time. It is not a numbered queue place, but the points count from the day you join. That is why registering early is worthwhile, even before you start looking.
Älmhultsbostäder publish no average queue time. How long it takes depends on which home you apply for and how many applicants with more points register interest. To keep your place you must log in to Mina sidor at least once every three months and update your details, or you lose your place in the queue. When you sign a tenancy the queue points reset. If you want to stay in the queue you have to register afresh.
